Jens Kersten is Professor of Public Law and Governance at LMU Munich. From 2006 to 2007 he was Professor of Planning and Environmental Law at Technical University of Dortmund; from 2007 to 2008 he held a professorship of Public and Economic Law at the University of Bayreuth.
Jens Kersten works in the fields of European, constitutional, and administrative law. He specialized in bioethics, labour, environmental, planning, and infrastructure law. Recent publications include: Die Notwendigkeit der Zuspitzung. Anmerkungen zur Verfassungstheorie (Berlin 2020); Der Verfassungsstaat in der Corona-Krise (with Stephan Rixen, München 2020); Politik des Zusammenhalts: Über Demokratie und Bürokratie (with Claudia Neu, Berthold Vogel, Hamburg 2019); Prosa schreiben. Literatur – Geschichte – Recht (ed. with Inka Mülder-Bach, Martin Zimmermann, Paderborn 2019).
